Inspiration can be a beautiful thing. By definition alone, it’s the internal experience of seeing, hearing, or feeling something so powerful that it resonates deep within.
I’ve always been called the “artsy” one in my family. Maybe it’s because I was introduced to dance and music at an early age. Maybe it’s because I took lessons, letting some fall by the wayside, but never losing my appreciation for the craft. Or maybe it was the semester I swapped all my engineering classes for art classes, applying to a program that would shape the trajectory of my now art-inspired career and volunteerism. Continuing my education at an art school in one of my favorite cities only reinforced this passion. For whatever reason, I always seem to find myself drawn into someone else’s art journey.
Whether they’re telling a story, sharing a sketch, singing a tune… I am endlessly intrigued. I just have to know: what was the spark that inspired this? The choice to write…
To sing…
To dance…
To draw…
To paint…
To sculpt…
To design…
To create something larger than oneself and then share it with others—audiences like me—who are there to receive, admire, love, question, hate and appreciate.
And for me, it’s always about that inspiration.
I’ve driven, flown, walked, zoomed, convinced friends to join me, listened, stared, and gazed deeply into countless pieces. I’ve felt, dreamed, and seen parts of myself expressed in others’ art. Every time I step into an art space, I feel that familiar pull—an instant curiosity that I can’t wait to explore. Whether or not the artist’s intent was to inspire, the art always draws me in, again and again.
So stay tuned! I’ll be sharing my experiences, impressions, and perhaps a little of my own inspiration, as I delve into the incredible art and culture in Cleveland and beyond. Looking forward to sharing more FeelSpace moments with you. See you in the next post!
